Content Marketing Writer - Now Hiring - Barrie Office

Who We’re Looking For:

We are seeking a savvy wordsmith who will be the lead content marketing writer for our clients. It's a fun, fast-paced and exciting position with lots of potential to show your writing skills! The position has a strong emphasis on the client persona, the buyers journey, the user experience and all aspects of the Inbound Methodology. 

Candidates must have a knack and love for both writing and research.

We are producing high quality content to achieve a variety of business goals. The writer will be expected to develop the clients voice across all marketing materials, and research information to develop thought leadership. This could take you on an adventure learning about an industrial product, or creating a sales email targeted at consumers. We're looking for someone undaunted by opportunities to dig in and be the client's expert.


Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for marketing communications writing and content marketing efforts to drive traffic, engagement, leads, that deliver sales and customer retention.
  • Writing assignments include daily blogging, eBooks, white papers, advertising copy, website content and ongoing marketing communications writing as needed.
  • Collaborate across agency functions to deliver an effective content marketing strategy and editorial plans to meet the client business objectives.
  • This role requires the research and understanding of the client persona, to create content the target audience is looking for and then to optimize the path to conversion.
  • Editorial requirements include basic SEO understanding, content categorization and structure, content development, distribution and measurement. Development of editorial governance so content is consistent with client brand voice, style and tone.
  • Editorial calendar and organization workflows must be developed and managed.
  • Channel management of digital content hubs, and the measurement and optimization of Inbound programs and campaigns will be required on a regular and ongoing basis
  • Writing various types of articles on a wide range of topics.
  • Providing feedback to other contributors, and editing other writers’ content.
  • Contributing to long-form content projects such as ebooks and whitepapers.
  • Conducting analytical projects to improve content strategies/tactics.
  • Growing blog subscribers, converting visitors into leads, and expanding our blog's overall reach.
  • Collaborate with designers, product marketers, sales professionals, and external influencers and industry experts to produce relevant content that meets the needs of both key stakeholders and our audience.
  • Convince others that your creative ideas are worth investing time and effort in. This role is at the core of the marketing team, and others will rely on your work every single day.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree or business communications College Diploma with a related professional writing focus
  • Experience creating content for the web 
  • Highly productive and able to turn around assignments to schedule
  • Editorial mindset that seeks to understand what audiences consume and how to create it
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with WordPress, HubSpot, and the top social channels
  • Project management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders
  • A passion for continually learning new ways to practice your craft
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams, meets deadlines and create engaging content
